EMPLOYMENT HISTORY (reverse-chronological order)

MSEtechnology Company – January 2001 to present day

MSEtechnology is an international leader in the design and implementation of technology and training solutions for medium to large sized businesses. The company provides high-end training services to consulting and support staff using both in-person and virtual instructor led delivery mediums.

After moving to America, I spent my first 18 months working in Seattle teaching high-end network communications and e-mail collaboration courses using customized curriculum.  These courses were based around Microsoft solutions.  I was responsible for helping develop and technically edit these courses.   Due to demand, the company expanded its team of instructors and I was given the responsibility of interviewing and technically screening a large number of these contractors.  Once selected, I was tasked with training them to the standard required to deliver MSEtechnology material.  I was then required to organize and assist supporting these contractors during their contract term.  Upon completion of the Seattle based contract, I relocated to Florida and was involved in developing a virtual training solution that allowed companies to train their personnel world wide across the internet.

I am also responsible for beta testing the latest network operating systems from Microsoft and developing courses and courseware based on those findings.  Due primarily to the fact that this curriculum was 18 months ahead of any vendor official materials and was so highly detailed, we were contracted to deliver these courses to several consulting companies. This led to MSEtechnology’s selection by Microsoft to deliver internal training to their support and consulting personnel, a contract in which I take great pride and am actively involved in to this day.

Negus Consulting - September 1998 to December 2000

A consulting company I founded, built on contacts I had established over the last few years, specializing in high end training on network communications products and e-mail collaboration.  I contracted my services to various training companies and continued to teach Microsoft and Novell Official Curriculum.  I was also involved with several financial institutions in the city of London carrying out consultation work on networking and email solutions.  I also provided in-house training to the support personnel on their existing and proposed solutions.  The company became so successful that I began working very closely with MSEtechnology in America to increase staffing.  MSEtechnology later purchased Negus consulting.

CHS Training - June 1996 to September 1998

One of the United Kingdoms largest Novell and Microsoft distributors providing training and consultancy services on a variety of Operating Systems including NetWare, UnixWare and Windows NT.

Initially employed to deliver technical training, using Microsoft and Novell official curriculum, to industry technicians. I successfully met the criteria set by Novell and Microsoft to qualify as a technical trainer and achieved a promotion to the role of Technical Training Manager. In this role, my responsibilities included the general day to day management of the lecturers, interviewing and evaluation of new lecturers and the career planning and definition of quarterly objectives. These objectives were set in line with the growing business needs of the department in order for all revenue and profit targets to be met. I also planned and scheduled course deliveries and designed and implemented an automated course deployment mechanism.

The courses taught included the day to day administration of Network Operating Systems, advanced Operating System practices, network design methodology, protocol specifics, packet analysis and troubleshooting, e-mail messaging solutions, design, coexistence, migration and implementation. These courses are based on a variety of Operating Systems including Novell NetWare 4, MS-DOS versions 3.x through 6.22, Windows 95 and Windows NT versions 3.1, 3.50, 3.51 and 4.0.  I was also one of only two people outside of IBM qualified to teach IBM Netfinity Server courses, incorporating the latest IBM Servers.

I also conducted research on product suitability for clients’ system requirements and planned and conducted staff training programs on computer systems, peripherals and software.

Datalect Network Services - January 1989 to May 1991

A leading United Kingdom supplier of Information Technology support services specializing in computer maintenance and networking solutions.

Initially employed as a Technical Support Engineer, supporting clients and the Field Service Engineers.  I was quickly promoted to the position of Repairs Manager responsible for the operation of the Stock Repair Department before transferring to the Networking Support Department. This also involved the evaluation and organization of existing resources including personnel, planning expansion of assets to meet projected expansion requirements. Additional responsibilities included all workshop and on-site repairs of file servers and general networking components, installation, configuration and fault finding.

Part of a team involved in the initial setup and establishment of a third party maintenance company working as part of the management team in the repair of IBM and compatible personal computers and peripherals.  My main role was pre and post sales technical support, the implementation of maintenance contracts and coordinating exports to Eastern and Western Europe.  I later returned to 2020 on a contract basis performing similar duties as above and providing consultation and support to their large European customer base.
